Nonesuch

Nonesuch is a fantasy automaton by Bill Nelson and Tom Banwell. The main character is a simple elf of the woods who has never understood why he was given a name indicating that he is special. It all becomes clear to him when he discovers his ability to enter the faerie world.

After years of wandering from place to place and being somewhat down on his luck, Nonesuch comes upon a beautiful classical marble urn decorated with funny little faces. He's never seen such beauty, but manages to get up his courage enough to sit on the urn to rest.

Being all dirty and threadbare from his travels, Nonesuch takes care to keep the urn clean by placing upon it his coarse burlap rug before taking his seat. Suddenly the faerie whose likeness is on the urn appears, sitting in the old elf's hand. Nonesuch is awestruck, and the faerie sits happily returning his gaze.

When the brass handle on the side of the urn is turned, Nonesuch's head moves slowly from side to side as he stares in disbelief, while the faerie's wings flap up and down. Nonesuch was sculpted by Bill, and dressed in a hand-stitched leather jerkin and cap over his tan undergarments made by Tom. Handmade in a limited edition of ten out of Lumicast™ resin, and was sold for $1600.
Nonesuch is sold out.
