Bill Nelson and Tom Banwell, Creating Unique Art Figures -

The Old Boy in the Bog

Doomed by an ancient curse he stumbled into one day many years ago, the Old Boy must spend his days ankle-deep in the mucky bog of the Western Ridings. However, to make his existence more pleasant he was given a tiny companion to keep him company — to sing to him, to bring him provisions, and to tell him of the world outside of the bog. Her name is Ezmydryanlo, which translates loosely as "one who is petrified silly by heights and mud." Oh, and she can't sing, either.

Bill Nelson and Tom Banwell are pleased to introduce their latest limited edition creation The Old Boy in the Bog. The Old Boy embodies all of the whimsy and charm of Bill's characters combined with the artistic details of Tom, who has sculpted the fairy and created the base and the costuming. The bog is a sight to behold as are the handmade leather shoes tied around the Old Boy's neck. Decorating the white cultured marble base are engravings taken from three illustrations by Bill of the Old Boy (two of them showing in the photo) and sinking into the bog is a scroll with the tale told above.

Approximately 19" tall, The Old Boy in the Bog was limited to fifteen pieces.
